About Medical Negligence in Ireland

A claim for Medical Negligence can arise in a number of different ways including; an error during surgery, a misdiagnosis or delay in diagnosis, incorrect or inaccurate test results, if a medical practitioner fails to act, causes injury, loss of quality of life or even death to a patient,  if the care a patient receives is substandard, substandard hygiene in a medical clinic or hospital leading to the contraction of an illness, error in the prescription of medication, foreign bodies or surgical instruments left in a patient following a procedure, aesthetic awareness during a surgical procedure whilst under general anaesthetic.

Claims for medical negligence in Ireland are not dealt with through the Injuries Board, unlike other personal injury claims.  At  Geraghty & Co., Solicitors LLP we can guide you through the process to make your claim run as smoothly as possible.  There are strict time limits involved in taking medical negligence claims, so if you feel you have claim do not delay in contacting your Solicitor to discuss same.

You should note that no solicitor/Client Relationship or duty of care or liability of any nature shall exist or be deemed to exist between Geraghty & Co., Solicitors LLP and you until you have received a written letter of engagement from us in which we confirm our appointment as  your Solicitors.

*In contentious business a Solicitor may not calculate fees or other charges as a percentage or proportion of any award or settlement.
